Cinnamon Sugar[Free] Bites

Gus and I have very different tastes in treats (you can thank him for a non chocolate recipe ughhh  :D). First off, somehow he was blessed by not being sugar obsessed like yours truly and secondly he’s not a crazed lover of everything chocolate. How are we married with these HUGE differences you wonder?! Lol we make it happen :D. Soo these were made because he likes cinnamon type treats. When I have my Chocolate Overnight Oats, he has cinnamon ones. They’re super similar to the Processed Sugar Free Cacao Bites from a few posts back so if that’s more your flavor, head there!

These are incredibly simple to make and involve very few ingredients which is one of the reasons, besides their deliciousness, that these little bites have become a staple for warding off my sugar cravings. Which is no easy task! I will warn you, it’s easy to get carried away and eat the whole batch. The first few times I made them I ate like three batches in one week, oops! I don’t recommend it :D. I’ve since learned to ration them and not be a crazy person when I make them. That first weeks was glorious though ha!

Also these are wonderful if you’re doing the Sugar Detox since they’re just sweetened with dates! Full of fiber, potassium and other lovely health boosting vitamins and minerals, you just can’t go wrong. Soo here we are, it’s recipe time! If you’re addicted to cinnamon rolls and you just don’t know how you can live without them, look no more, you’re healthy lifestyle just got simpler!

Cinnamon Sugar[Free] Bites

What you need:

10 Medjool Dates

1 & 3/4 Cup Oats

1/4 Cup Protein (I’d recommend unflavored or Vanilla)

3/4 Tbsp Cinnamon

*If you don’t want to add protein you can sub more oats!

What to do:

x Add pitted dates to the food processor and process for a few seconds (just a few, they’ll need like 10 at most)

x Add oats, protein and cinnamon and process until everything is blended. You may need to scrape the sides especially if you have a small food processor! You want things to be evenly distributed in the mix! If you blend too long, it gets a bit sticky. I recommend blending 20 or so seconds, scraping and repeating a few times or until everything looks pretty well mixed. You’ll still have some little oat pieces around! Pretty much like the picture above.

x Roll into bites and enjoy!

These can be stored for at least a week in an air tight container..I’ve never been able to make them last longer that that! They don’t need to be refrigerated but can be.

Sweat, Smile, Repeat! And Eat!

Let me know if you give them a try! 🙂
