My Latest Grocery Haul

The really great thing about this grocery haul is that I broadcasted it on Facebook LIVE on my personal page filled with people from high school,  past jobs and family friends, rather than SugarySixPack.. I may or may not have broken out into an immediate sweat and almost fainted when I realized it. I will now double check my Facebook LIVE videos 20 times before posting I’m sure! Annyyyways, hope your Wednesday has been wonderful and on to the grocery haul!

What I got and how I use it:

Lemons: Morning lemon water, making guacamole

Pears, Pineapple, Grapes: I’m always stocked with fruit for when a sugar craving hits. That way I can reach for some grapes rather than run out for some Twizzlers. Being prepared is half the battle!

Tomatoes: In salad, salsa, alone. I love tomatoes.sugarysixpack.com

Avocado: Guacamole, in salad, in smoothies.

Leafy Greens: I’m not a veggie person, I have to be starving to eat them raw or alone(I actually can’t recall a time I’ve done either of those things.. :D). So, I get them through my salad! That way I can chicken, avocado, grilled peppers and red onion, a little feta and other things that create a flavor that I actually like! These are also a great addition to a smoothie!

Chicken: Use it a million ways. I usually make a big batch early in the week so I can eat it on salads, with potatoes, in a stir fry etc. Try my Healthy Hot Chicken recipe!

Quinoa: Great for side dishes, a salad topping and can be added to overnight oats for a little variety!

Oats: I lovee oats, I don’t eat a ton of bread so they’re a staple for me. (I usually go for the ones labeled gluten free). These are amazing for granola! Here’s my 2 go to recipes: My Favorite Easy Granola Recipe & Super Simple Granola . So, yeh the first is my favorite 😀 it uses dates and the second uses honey but both are great and pretty simple. Plus they’re easy to customize and great as cereal with a little cashew or almond milk. Overnight oats are another great way to get oatmeal in and make your breakfast life easier. You can also use them for Cheesy Garlic Oat Crusted Chicken or as ‘bread crumbs’ in other recipes!

Coconut oil: Soo I use this to take off my eye make up..when I get around to wearing it, but it’s also great for cooking! It’s a good option for high heat cooking (olive oil is better raw or low heat) so cook up your chicken, potatoes, add to healthy treats etc.

Raw Honey: Get benefits beyond just the sweetness. Most honey in our stores has been crazily processed and no longer contains any of the health benefits and could actually contain corn syrup and other detrimental things. Grab raw honey next time sugarysixpack.cominstead of a processed sweetener. I love to use it in my shakes, on granola and healthy treats.

Mozzarella Cheese: I love cheese and this goes mainly on my chicken tacos! I found tortillas at Trader Joe’s that are only corn, water and lime soo that opened a whole new and wonderful door for me!

Some of my other staples:

Potatoes: red, gold, sweet, potatoes are da bomb.

Almond or Cashew Milk: Great for shakes, smoothies, and eating granola as cereal.

Grass Fed Butter: A little goes a long way when cooking!  I usually use it to butter the pan before cooking potatoes.

Dates: For things like the granola above or Power Brownie Bites . These are amazing for chocolate cravings, I promise!

Cashews: Again for those brownie bites or a just quick snack!

Red Onions & Peppers: Pan fry these with sea salt, pepper and garlic powder and take your salad to a whole new level 😀

I’m sure there are some other things I’m missing. Maybe a follow up post soon! Let me know what kind of posts will be helpful to you and if you try any of these recipes! I’m off to finish work on The Get Fit Food Guide! It’s so close! 😀
