What I Eat in A Day

One of the most commonly asked questions I get when doing an Instagram live video is ‘what do you eat daily?’ or some form of that. Since the live videos disappear, I’m writing a blog post with the answer and it will stay right here forever and ever for anyone who wants to see it :D.

This is also laid out in my Get Fit Food Guide along with tons of easy to use healthy eating tips, info and over 30 recipes.

Two things to keep in mind:

  • 1. I’m very picky. So I tend to eat a lot of the same stuff! I’ve been this way since I was little and I just slowly work on expanding my palette.
  • 2.  I’m going to lay out my good days. I do occasionally eat desserts, I eat whatever my little heart desires on Thanksgiving, Christmas and my birthday and I don’t believe that being healthy or working towards your fitness goals has to be restricting or sad!

Now that that’s out of the way, here is what a typical day of eating looks like for me!

Pre workout: A few Power Bites or a bar like Larabar or RxBar that has mainly whole food ingredients.

Post workout: Overnight oats with a scoop of protein. It’s a good mix of carbs and protein to refuel! This is also potatoes & eggs a decent amount of the time!

Snack: This is only here when I get up pretty early, other wise I go right to lunch. It’s usually fruit. Whatever I happen to have around. An apple or banana with a little almond butter, pineapple and berries, oranges etc.

Lunch: Usually a big leafy green salad with some kind of protein (chicken, egg, red meat, tuna) and veggies on it (cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, whatever your favorites are) an a little cheese! Most days it’s just oil & vinegar for dressing!

Snack: Almonds & dark chocolate chips (ratio here is usually just 1 chip per nut)

Dinner: Some type of protein and usually potatoes. I’m working on getting some other, more colorful, veggies in here too! Definitely recommend it. Lately because it’s beens cold we’ve had fajita chicken soup, roast, ‘steak’ & potato soup and then things like salmon too.

Snack: This snack doesn’t always happen either, for example if dinner happend later than expected, I’m not going to eat a snack if I’m not hungry. This varies, sometimes some sea salt popcorn, more fruit or nuts, a couple of these delicious Chocolate Chip Granola Bites or my My Favorite Easy Granola, even some chopped tomatoes & cucumbers with feta if I’m feeling extra healthy. 😀

The main point here is to pick real, whole food as often as possible. We’re all going to have meals when we get off track or eat something we didn’t plan on but that’s ok as long as we get back to it and keep working at it! It is a lifestyle after and we all have different goals so make it work for you and fit your life!

What are some of your go to healthy snacks?

Sweat, Smile, Repeat!
