One Healthy Treat You Can’t Resist

I’ve been increasingly paranoid about all of the terrible chemicals and craziness that is being found in our foods these days(yoga mat chemicals in bread, cancer causing dyes, something in pop that’s strong enough to clean rust!? etc..) So, I’ve been trying my best to make my own healthy treats! I’m a huge granola/protein bar person so I decided to take a stab at making some at home! The result is these dark chocolate peanut butter bars(if you’ve seen any of my other snack posts you know I love adding dark chocolate to my health food.. dark chocolate covered almonds, PB Chocolate flourless cookies, and a personal favorite, the 4 ingredient protein no bake) and I’m here to share them with you:)

Ingredients:20140509_134229
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup peanuts
1 1/2 cup almonds
2 tbsp Chia seeds
2 tbsp flax seeds

Mix all these together! It helps if the almonds and peanuts are chopped, I just threw them in my tiny food processor for a few seconds.

1/3 cup honey

This should be mixed in until everything is covered then the whole mix is poured out onto a pan with wax paper on it. Here’s the tasty part:

1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks/chips
4 tbsp natural peanut butter

Melt together these together and spread it all over the top(that will later be the bottom) of your flattened out bars. Let this sit in the fridge until it hardens and can be cut into the size you want! When I did this it made 14 bars.
