Planks can be an amazing move to tone your entire body! The problem is.. they can be a little boring. Doing basic plank and side plank over and over isn’t only boring but its not using the full potential of planks and their variations! Here are 8 plank variations that will work your core extra hard while also toning your whole body. Let’s make planks fun again!
-Planks are a great toner but only if you have your form right! Here’s some tips for getting the most out of your planks.
-Keep your core tight! The more your core is engaged in the exercise the more you’re going to feel the burn and get the benefits.
-Your hands/elbow(depending if you’re in full planks or not) should be under your shoulders. Keeping your arms under your shoulders will keep from putting unnecessary stress on the shoulder joint that could lead to serious problems if done repeatedly!
-Keep your body in a line. Don’t let your hips sag down or your butt go way into the air. You want everything to be in line!(neutral spine)
-Point your heels backwards and your pelvis forwards. This will help to engage your entire body and keep you in line!
Here’s the challenge! Feel free of course to make up your own workout using these moves! Picking and choosing some to add to other workouts or doing these moves in a different sequence will still get you the benefits!:)
30 seconds each-Give yourself 5-10 seconds between each move to get adjusted/give your arms and abs a tiny break(they’ll be burning!)
2 Rounds 1 minute break between the 2 rounds.
What are some of your favorite plank variations?
So the order I’ve found works best is down the whole first column then down the whole second column! Enjoy:)
