Yoga can be an amazing way to stay fit, flexible and healthy but it can also put you to sleep! What?! Yep, it’s true! Yoga is an amazing way to unwind from your day, relax your mind, and get ready for bed! This bed time pillow yoga sequence is especially put together to get your mind and body ready for a good night’s sleep but it can really be used any time you feel the need to get in some relaxing yoga.
One of the great things about doing this sequence before bed is you get to use your pillow! All of these moves incorporate a cushion/pillow in some way, making them an ultra comfortable and relaxing sequence. Doing yoga before bed has even helped people with serious sleep problems like insomnia. It’s amazing what learning to calm and focus your mind and body with yoga can do for you. Even if you don’t have serious sleep problems this sequence can improve your night’s sleep.
So let’s get to it! Repeat the sequence twice or as many times as you’d like, holding each pose from 10 to 30 seconds depending on your level of flexibility in each pose. Don’t push yourself to the point of pain! Just allow yourself to relax into each pose and feel a nice stretch. If you’re doing this to help you sleep, try to clear your mind and focus on the yoga poses. It will help you to relax and be ready for a great rest!
